Privacy policy

This site is run by Happy Sips Co, a business registered in Québec, Canada. You can reach us, including the person responsible for protecting personal information, at hello@thehappysips.com. We answer Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 Eastern.

When you order. Checkout runs on Shopify. Shopify collects your name, email, shipping address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered, so we can ship it and answer you. Your card details are handled by Shopify's payment processing and never reach our servers.

When you sign up for tips. Your email address and the date you agreed to receive our emails.

When you ask to hear about a restock. Your email address and the product you're waiting for.

When you ask for the care guide. Your email address and whether you agreed to receive tips.

When you browse. Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) for 30 days, to keep the site running and secure.

When you browse, with Microsoft Clarity. To see where the site is confusing, we use Microsoft Clarity. It records how you use our pages: clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, the pages you visit, your device and browser type, and your approximate location from your IP address. We see this as heatmaps and as replays of visits. What you type in our forms is masked in your browser before anything is sent.

Cookies. One functional cookie keeps your cart for up to 30 days. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your own browser, not on our servers. Clarity sets the cookies _clck and _clsk to recognize your browser and link your page views, and may set Microsoft's MUID cookie, which Microsoft uses across its own sites, including for advertising. We run no advertising pixels on this site.

Shopify runs our checkout, takes payments, and keeps order records.

TeemDrop, our fulfillment supplier, packs your order and ships it from overseas. It receives your name, shipping address, and the items you ordered.

Hostinger hosts this site on servers in the United States and sends our emails.

Microsoft runs Clarity and processes what it records under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

We don't sell your personal information.

This site and the information it collects are hosted in the United States. Shopify, Microsoft and TeemDrop may process information in other countries under their own policies, and your shipping details travel to our supplier overseas so your order can ship. Because we're based in Québec, Canada, we access this information from Canada.

Server logs: 30 days.

Clarity: Microsoft keeps visit replays for 30 days and heatmaps for 13 months, then deletes them.

Tips, restock and care guide sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Order records: kept in Shopify.

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing hello@thehappysips.com. We answer within 30 days.

Every tips email has an unsubscribe link.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Clarity doesn't load on this site, and we treat the signal as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing.

You can also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, which oversees how we handle personal information.

This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
